Iman Shumpert is a hands-on dad: He delivered his daughter!
Singer Teyana Taylor welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting and point guard on Wednesday, Dec. 16, she announced Thursday on Instagram.
Daughter Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. was originally due in mid-January, taking her parents by surprise when Taylor went into labor a month ahead of schedule.
“On Dec 16th at 6:42 a.m. in our bathroom, Junie decided she wanted to take her first breath into this world. She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone!” the new mom, 25, writes.
“Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head … it took two 10 count pushes with my fiancé playing doctor and she entered this world into his bare hands! Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator, [Iman] tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord. The ambulance made their grand entrance five minutes later.”

Despite the impromptu delivery scene, Taylor recalls the sweet and serene first few moments with her newborn daughter.
“She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried! He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is,” the “Google Me” singer shares.
“She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete. Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you. #MeetTheParents we love you baby girl.”
The basketball star, 25, first announced the couple were expecting a baby in September when he posted a shot of Taylor’s ultrasound to Instagram.
“We people, show the world what we feel the world should see when we want them to see it … something this beautiful had to be announced when we were ready for everyone to know … this is what happiness grows into!” he captioned the image.
Weeks later, Shumpert surprised Taylor with a proposal — and a ruby red engagement ring — during her baby shower.
“I’m still speechless. I love you baby,” the mom-to-be wrote on Instagram, sharing a snap of her sparkly new bling.
